Initial Ideas on own Music Video

Our initial plot for our music video would start with the artist and another character (his brother) driving down an open road and they have a head on collision with another car. At this point, the artist survives however, his brother dies, this happens before the lyrics start as there is a 20 second intro to the song. throughout the rest of the video the artist will look back at old photos of the two together in some of their favourite places to visit. The artist looks back on old memories and re visits some of these places throughout the music video, these places being suitable for our genre for example, woods, towns/cities etc. These locations are typical of this genre which is what we aimed to achieve when creating this narrative. As well as having a strong narrative, it is important to have a variety of performance shots within an Indie Pop music video. The overall concept of our music video will be the artist feeling guilty or responsible for his brothers death and will try to relive the past in order to remind himself of the good times that they had. The ending will finish on a happier note in order to follow a structure such as TODOROV's theory of everything being calm at the beginning which is then disturbed however, the equilibrium is restored by the end of the video.
