Mock Digipak

The design of this digipak was inspired by many other existing heavy metal digipaks. This design, features typical generic conventions that are expected from this genre such as violence, fire, dragons etc. These conventions have connotations of  angry/ aggression which is expected of this genre. The colour scheme clearly represents an evil like scene which is shown in almost all of the digipaks that we found within our research into the genre and digipak designs. We used a suitable font that recognised within the genre of heavy metal. The size, colour and placement of the font were very similar to almost all other heavy metal digipaks.

From the feedback that I received from this digipak design I have realised some faults with the design such as the inside cover being upside down if it was to be assembled as of now. Another piece of criticism was that the font on the back of the digipak listing the songs on the album wasn't clear enough and needed to be edited. However, other than this the colour scheme was appreciated and was relevant to the genre as well as the font of the title of the album and band. From this task during the research into digipaks stage I have found out the different digipak designs for example, there are more complex designs as well as the basic one like the mock digipak we desined above.
